Honda Transmission Mfg., Inc., HTM Line 2 MC Leak Test began exhibiting high leak test rates. Orange shavings were showing up on Line 2 M Case Leak Test fixture on sealing surface. Our team sought after the true root-cause to this problem, successfully determined what was causing our problems and counter measured them effectively. Our team added two brushes, to the Line 2 Leak Test Input Conveyor, that clear orange conveyor roller chips from the M-Cases prior to them reaching the leak test fixtures. This solution is projected to, conservatively, save HTM around $60,000 in overtime avoidance per year.
