The No Pit Crew

HAM, Honda of America Mfg., Inc. Team focus was to modify the drain valve process to reduce safety risks. Associates were at high risk of serious injury when entering the drain pit to drain the tanks. The risks were entrapment, chemical exposure and ergonomic working condition. The team’s goal of eliminating these risks was achieved by implementing an automated drain system that no longer requires the associate to enter the pit.
